Back to school and back to business. Vacations are wrapping up and now it’s time for the kids to hit the books and you to hit the ground running to finish the year strong.

Here are some themes to help you get back into the groove of communicating with your audience.

 

Monthly Observances

International Self-Awareness Month: septmeber-holiday-and-obs-pages

Getting to know you, getting to know all about you! How important is it for your target audience to know themselves? How does not being in touch with who they are affect their success? Tell them.
Shameless Promotion Month: 

Whoop whoop! Tell your audience it’s “Shameless Promotion Month”. Fire up your social networks and promote your stuff, encourage others to share what they have going on and to support others. It’s a great buzz and community building exercise.

National Immunization Awareness Month:

Of course it’s time for back to school which means immunization time for many children. If you are a health coach or consultant, give your expert opinion. Do you believe immunizations are a good or a bad thing? Why or why not? Share your expertise and opinion with your audience and encourage feedback.

Women’s Friendship Month:

That’s what friends are for! I have met some amazing women over the years. Give you friends in your personal life and in business a warm shout out. Feature a short note to each of them throughout the month. It’s just nice to do sometimes.

Happiness Happens Month: Who couldn’t use an extra dose of happiness in their day? Spread joy with tips, advice and other types of content to encourage your audience to look on the brighter side of life.

What Will Be Your Legacy Month: What do you want to leave the world, your family or community? How can you inspire your audience to do the same?

National Immunization Awareness Month:

Are you a health or wellness coach? What are your views on immunization?  What should parents know about immunization the may not be aware of? Create some articles, shoot a 3-5 minute video or audio tip educating your audience about this controversial issue.

Black Business Month:
Yep, it’s time to celebrate black business savvy. Are you an African American Business Owner? Support or highlight black owned businesses you admire and encourage your audience to do the same.

Gasp! This was a challenge for me for years! So many people fear speaking in front of and audience, even if they can’t see them. Today their are options like teleclass and webinars that offer a safe option for those who fear speaking publicly. But, even these options has its challenges. If you are a public speaker or coach who helps people overcome the fear of public speaking.

What tips or advice can you share with them to help them step out into there greatness?

 

National Grilling Month

Are you a health and wellness expert or chef who helps people learn how to eat and live healthy?

As people get ready to scarf down barbeque drenched ribs and potatoes salad, share some healthy grilling tips. How can people east healthy at barbeques and still enjoy the delicious food? Are there any particular foods we should avoid? Most people think grilling food in general makes it healthy in and of itself, is that true or is that a myth?

This is a great time to showcase your expertise and help people stick to their fitness goals.

 

National Make a Difference to Children Month

Are you a Divorce Attorney, Children’s Author or someone who’s mission or passion is about helping children?

Share a story about your passion and journey for impacting the lives of children. Interview charities in your local community that serve children and ask your listeners or readers to donate and support them. This is a great way to create content and create awareness and connections in your community. This is also a great reason to create some press releases.

I had an epiphany with this one. As a mompreneur with all three of my boys home with me for the summer, It’s a challenges finding tome to myself to breathe, let alone read. So,  I love this one as a way to escape and get a few minutes to myself and do both.

Does your business advocate healthy living? Maybe you can feature a healthy recipe each week featuring a delicious yet healthy way to eat salad. By the way it’s also National Hamburger Month, sooooo that’s what you’re up against. You might want to throw in an article or video tip about why hamburgers can be bad for your health.

National Photo Month

What’s up to my photographer friends! Yes, I know you have more to say than come take a picture. It’s also National Smile Month. You could create an article discussing the beauty of a smile.

  • Are there different types of smiles that can be used when taking pictures?
  • Can you take pictures of different types and use them in your article to illustrate your point?
  • Create a contest and encourage people to submit their best smile, reward them with a free session or some kind of discount.

Personal History Month

We celebrate a lot of different histories, Women’s History, African American History, American History…

Why not our Personal History? This could be an interesting topic for life and empowerment coaches. But, anyone can really use this theme. Why? because people love stories and this is an opportunity to tell them yours.

  • Share your personal story in a blog, video or have someone interview you. What obstacles have you overcome? What’s something people would be surprised to know about you?
  • Interview someone else you admire on their personal history. Why is it important for people to know their story?
  • Challenge your community to write and share their personal history. Of course, you can turn this into a fun contest.
